Consignment and brokerage

Looking for car consignment?

Read this before you leave your car on someone else’s forecourt. We do not offer consignment — we broker the sale. Here is the honest difference.

Straight away: we do not do consignment

Under Estonian law a consignment sale is a komisjonileping: you hand the car to a consignee who sells it in their own name but on your account. The car moves into their possession, the buyer contracts with them, and the money reaches them first.

We work as a broker. We do not sell your car ourselves — we bring you and the buyer together. The car stays your property, the contract is between you and the buyer, and the money goes from the buyer straight to your account.

Most people searching for consignment actually want the outcome: the car sold at a good price without having to run adverts and answer strangers. Brokerage delivers that outcome without the car ever leaving your hands.

What differs in practice

Both models end in a sale. The difference is who holds the car, in whose name the deal is done, and whose account the money passes through.

Consignment Brokerage (us)

Who decides on price The consignee, within agreed limits You, on every offer
Who answers enquiries The consignee Us — tyre-kickers never reach you

When the fee arises Depends on the contract Only on a sale

What it costs

Our brokerage fee is 4% of the sale price, with a minimum of €800, plus a one-off €49 contract fee. On a €20,000 car that is €849 in total and €19,151 into your account. The fee only arises on a sale.

When comparing quotes, check three things every time: whether the fee includes VAT, whether it still falls due if the car does not sell, and whether photography and listing management are inside the price.
